I always thought the last gen Firebird looked overinflated. It’d be a great platform for engine mods though.

I’ve honestly always thought that the hood looks sort of like a pig snout, but that’s still a lot of car for the price and for some sweet t-top action.

My first car was a Camaro and I hated it in every single way and have steadfastly refused to ever touch another GM product for the rest of my life, but I still kind of miss that t-top.

I’ve got a 2010 Camaro and I’ve driven it for almost 6 years daily and love driving it.

How can it be the wrong side when jesus, bald eagles and chuck norris all drive their cars on that side? No. It’s not the wrong side. It’s also not the right side. IT’S THE ‘MURICAN SIDE, THE ONLY SIDE THAT COUNTS!

A little over-inflated, yes. But it can be made to look nice by lowering it and widening the stance to match to width of the fenders.

Nice Price, currently. It’ll probably work its way to 11-13k though.

Deduct points for the 4l60e.

Looks stock as a rock aside from the strut tower brace. Also they’ve swapped out the stock air box. It looks like they used an earlier model rad support, with an aftermarket air box for an LT1 car and added a foam seal to the hood? Kinda strange, I haven’t seen that before.

Yes the late 4th gen is a great base for mods but this particular cars is the oddball. 98s have a difference ecm that makes it difficult to tune (I.e. You have to have a shop do it) also the ls1s have the oddball cylinder heads with perimeter valve cover bolt patters. You have to swap heads and a buck of other parts to be compatible with the aftermarket. I know because I used to own a 98 Camaro SS

Also a slight deduction being a 98, they are a little more of a challenge to modify

I’d overlook the fact it doesn’t have a manual for such a clean car. You’d be so worried about trying to turn that you’d probably prefer to not have to shift too.

Yes, when the stance is as wide or wider than the fenders they look SOOO much better.

Haha good point. The WS6 cars could actually handle pretty well. An aftermarket panhard bar and lower control arms put them on par with some of the better handling cars of that era.

There are much worse handling cars, probably newer as well. Was just bein a smarty.

I don’t doubt that they’re significantly better in every way. I just hold a grudge in an irrational way that comes from owning an offensively shoddily put together car as a first car. If it hadn’t been my first car, I probably wouldn’t hold a grudge (I mean, I drive a Jag, so I’m already rolling boulders towards glass houses here).

To GM’s credit, they’ve acknowledged and gone a long way towards rectifying their problems since the recession.

It didn’t help that the car was a piece of shit and also came with unwanted attention from douchebags who would try to race at every light and police who would follow for miles. Especially when getting pulled over meant having to explain that I couldn’t roll down my window because the window switch broke for the fifth time.
